Subliminal Hypnosis Uncovered

Here is a quick introduction to subliminal hypnosis - what it is and what it can do for you. There is some confusion as to what this exactly is as subliminal messaging and hypnosis are actually different ways of improving your mind / overcoming problems etc.. First of all here are 2 definitions:

  • Hypnosis: Is where someone goes into a a trance like state; a state in which they have a heightened suggestibility and do not have the ability to think logically. In this state the subconscious mind is easily accessed. This is usually done with commands, tone of voice and subtle suggestions to ease the person into trance.
  • Subliminal Messaging: Is also a means to access the subconscious mind and bypasses your critical thinking function. Just like hypnotherapy it will implant suggestions into your mind - the difference being however that you won’t go into a deep trance, and you will be unaware of the subliminal messages as they enter your mind. The normal way of using these subliminal suggestions is by embedding them in music.

So.. just what is subliminal hypnosis?

The lines can be blurry, and the term has grown to mean different things to different people.

Officially subliminal hypnosis is where you enter a mini trance state without meaning to i.e. you enter it subliminally. This might sound strange to you but we are continously go in and out of these mini trance like states all day long - when reading, writing, exercising riding the bus etc.

It is easy to explain with the example of watching television. We become engrossed in the tv and enter a type of trance. We are somewhat oblivious of our surroundings - we may not properly register a question we are asked for example, or our response comes after a delay.

Also typically tv advertisements will be LOUDER than the actual program you have been watching - this takesyou out of your mini trance, and also focuses you on the advert. Then, with various techniques of music, flashes, and sounds put youstraight into another state of trance - in this suggestable, trance like state the advert will have a much better chance of sinking in.

However, with the increase in the use of both hypnotherapy cds and subliminals it has actually started to get used to refer to either pure hypnosis or subliminal messaging. This is not technically correct, and can be a little confusing. When people ask us about our subliminal hypnosis albums we have to clearly say what our albums do and don’t do.

As with the first definition our albums are pure subliminal messaging and not trance based - this has both advantages and disadvantages over pure hypnosis - it is more of a gradual treatment, but it won’t put you into a trance, which means you can make changes to your inner mind during your regular routine - even while exercising etc.
